Calhoun is about 1 1/2 hours North of St. Louis
OR about 4 hours South of Chicago.
The farm is on 85 acres mostly of woods.
The surrounding property is mostly woods
and some crop fields.
The average shot on a
deer in Illinois with a bow is 12 yards. If you are on
this site you are probably aware that 30 yard shots are
rare and usually stupid. With that in mind and the
understanding that this is rugged deer country and not flat
farm land, believe me you can put 6 or 8 people on here
without being on each other. We did 8 with guns.
The fences on the property are a wreck and the deer come and
go from every angle.
So 4 guys with bows will not be a
problem.
Due to requests we are considering
selling spots on the farm. This of course means that you
might well be there with total strangers or you can invite
your friends. Right now we intend to sell 5 day hunts
for $1200.
($800 after shotgun season)
We should have the forage crop replanted this spring.
Originally we figured a more
attractive and versatile setup might be some friends or a
hunting club would want to have it all and split up the time
among themselves.
If you want the property all to yourself and 3 buddies we can
sell the whole season to 4 guys for $1500 each.
Or if you have 8 or 12 buddies you can take turns as you like.
NOTE: We will not be providing ANYTHING but
the land and rights thereto.
If you desire a cook we can work that out.
